St. Thomas .... bye, bye.

a cute little bar, St. Thomas

St. Thomas

On the way out we visited St. Thomas ... the back streets, not the Cruise Ship area. We are going to have our lunch in there in one of the blue doors (paties filled with salted fish)

Soper's Hole, Tortola, BVI.

coming around the corner into Soper's Hole (Tortola, West End)

Job is done ... or so I thought, being Swiss, Peter asked that, since I am already down there, to polish the prop (for better performance??? or to attract barracudas!?)

getting ready for a prolonged dive to cut some rope off the prop shaft, Ruth and Peter made sure that we did not get bored and looked for entertainment ....!

Ruth and Peter, SV Aquataurus

and then there were some other and fairly "large" sailing vessels crossing our bow ....

and this is the way it looked from the boat.

this was part of the "path".

The anchorage ... we were definitely NOT alone!

Virgin Gorda, "The Baths" ... wonderfully shaped rocks, neat little passages between and under these bolders, what a landscape!

Sunset on Guana Island ... we competed with Ruth to get the best picture!

Our anchorage along Guana Island, north of Tortola.
To have this view from land, one has to pay a lot of money...about 1000.00US per day!

Cruz Bay, where we had to check-out from the US. It was a hot day, and the beach bar a perfect place to have a beer!

entering Cruz Bay on St. John

sailing vessel Aquataurus - our home for a week.

... moving along St. John

Sunset over St. Thomas.

And there is bird life (and notice, there is NO snow!).

I cannot get enough of the view! ... and my legs are getting burned!

Leaving St. Thomas, heading for St. John.

One of many delightful evenings in the cockpit of Aquataurus, with our (Swiss) friends Ruth and Peter.

Our arrival in St. Thomas - finally, summer again!!! And it seems, we are not alone escaping the winter!

This was our sailing ground on board of "Aquataurus" (from Switzerland), with our friends Ruth and Peter! We shared many rums, (from the islands, where else ...). It was great, and we very much enjoyed our time with them! H & M.

Sailing Time!!!!
It is sailing time again! This time, a trip to the Virgin Islands, where (aren't we lucky) our friends Ruth and Peter on SV Aquataurus happen to be. And how could we say NO (???) to an invitation in the sun when we have snow up hear and (still) cold temperatures.

Ok, it will be a system shock: from minus 15C one day, to plus 30C in the afternoon. Well, there is one cure: jump overboard to "cool off", followed by a glass of rum to get warm again.

Cheers!
